Event 1: Tower Run – 0900-U/C HRS 8 May 2010

COURSE OF FIRE: The Tower Run will consist of two (2) Snipers and three (3) Assault Rifle Shooters. All team members will be armed with a safety/securely holstered but unloaded handgun along with their rifle. Each Sniper will utilize an optically sighted precision rifle, with unlimited ammunition, to engage a total of six targets located down range. The targets will be set at unknown distances. These shots will be taken from the pre-designated Sniper Position on the tower. The Assault element will engage their targets from their designated position. The Assault element will carry a basic load of ammunition with them. All team members must ascend the tower along the predetermined path and rappel down the tower. The time will end when all targets are engaged and all team members cross the finish line.

Event 2: Obstacle Course – 0900-U/C HRS 8 May 2010

COURSE OF FIRE: On command move from the start box to the wall. Stack to the roof of building 1. Descend the roof prior to reaching the window (see the diagram). Engage all targets in the roll-up bays without entering. Move to building 2, clear the ground floor, then climb the balcony, enter and clear the 2nd floor. Descend through the designated window. Move to the shooting box. Engage all targets once all team members are in the box. Time stops when the last plate falls and the team returns to the start box. Beware of IEDs.

Event 3: Steel Challenge – 1100HRS / UC 8 May 10

COURSE OF FIRE: Each team will gather intact / complete with all equipment, to include at a minimum body armor, helmet, pistol belt, eyes and ears at the start point . When directed the team will face in a safe direction and load both their assault rifle and pistol; safe both, holster the pistol and keep their assault rifle pointed in a safe direction. At the start of the Steel Challenge, the first team member will enter the start box. On the command go, the team member will move as quickly and safely as possible to the first shooters box. Once inside the box the individual will engage the flash targets until each target is hit once. At that point the team member will safe his weapon and maneuver as quickly and safely as possible to the second shooter box. Once inside the box, the individual will draw his pistol and knock down each of the six plates in the plate rack. The individual will then safe and holster his weapon and reset the plate rack. The individual will then draw and use his pistol “shooting strong hand,” to knock down all the plates in the plate rack. Following this, he will safe and holster his pistol and then reset the plates in the plate rack. He will then move as quickly and safely as possible back to the start point where he will tag the next team member, who will run the same course as the previous team member performing the same actions. The course is complete and time will stop when all team members have successfully run through the course and are gathered back at the start point.

Event 4: Close Quarters Battle – May 2010

COURSE OF FIRE: The assault team will enter a pre-determined breach point on the sound of a flash-bang and conduct CQB on an unknown target. The team must clear all rooms and eliminate all threat targets with a weapon. The team will recover, maintain control and depart with Mr. Brown.

Limitations: Plywood will represent walls and will not be breached. Metal doors will not be breached with the shotgun. Flash-bang use is authorized.

Event 5: CT Parcourse – 1400-U/C HRS 5 May 2010

COURSE OF FIRE: All five members will have a fully operational handgun to be carried in a holster throughout the course. All team members will be armed with Assault Rifles with one magazine loaded with a total of at least ten (10) rounds of ammunition. One of the team members will be designated as a Grenadier. The Grenadier will also be equipped with a 40mm grenade launcher and one practice round. Upon the command “GO”, the team will exit the APC and run to the series of obstacles. The team will traverse over the walls as they see fit, providing that each member and all equipment pass over the top of each obstacles. The team will have a low crawl that will have to be negotiated. The team will come to a staging area, a box marked on the ground. Once the Grenadiers target has been engaged, each team member will then run to their individually designated shooting position and engage their targets. When the targets have successfully been engaged, the team member will make their weapon safe and run back through the course going over the obstacles in reverse order. Time will stop when the last team member crosses the finishing line.

Event 6: Water Event – 0900 – U/C 9 May 2010

COURSE OF FIRE: Each team will provide 5 personnel to compete in the water event. Skills tested will be; swimming ability, breath holding, memorization and team work /efficiency. Each team competing will have an extra uniform on site, to include but not limited to: boots, socks, undershirt and BDU “battle dress uniform” top and bottom. Coverall type / one piece uniforms are not permitted in this event.

Event 7: Precision Pistol – 0900 HRS 9 May 2009

COURSE OF FIRE: Each team will start off in a designated START/FINISH area. One team member from each team will run at a time. In the START/FINISH area, the first shooter from each team will load their rifle. The rifle will be loaded with 1 round of ammunition only. No other team member will load their rifle until the previous team member had finished engaging all of their targets and has returned to the START/FINISH area. On the command of “Go” the team member will engage their rifle targets with their rifle. Once the rifle targets are successfully engaged, they can move on to the first barricaded shooting positions.

At the barricade positions, the team members must engage their targets with their handguns, from each side of the barricade. The targets must fall down for a successful engagement. before the team member can run back and tag off with their other team member, who will be the next shooter on the course. The teams time will stop when each team member has engaged their targets and the last team member crosses the finish line.

Event 8: Precision Rifle Event – 1200-U/C HRS 9 May 2010

COURSE OF FIRE: The event will start and end on command after 20 minutes. Firing positions will be marked by cones. From the start position on the command “GO” team snipers must knock down two pepper poppers at an unknown distance. Snipers are to then transition to their assault rifles and join their assault teams. From designated firing positions each team member will engage a bull target at 300 meters with 10 rounds from the prone. No one is allowed to leave the firing line until all have fired their 10 rounds. The team will move to the 250 meter berm and fire 10 more rounds from the prone on the same bull. Once all have completed firing 10 rounds the team will move to the cones at the 200 meter berm. Once there individuals will fire 10 more rounds into their bull from the kneeling position. The team will move to the 100 meter berm and fire 10 rounds in to their bull from the standing position.

Event 9: Methods of Entry and SMG/Carbine Event – 1200-U/C HRS 9 May 2010

COURSE OF FIRE: Each team member will come to the START box with an unloaded SMG/carbine and a basic load of ammunition. Each team member will have an unloaded handgun that they must carry throughout the event. On the command the team will advance to the building, where they will scale/stack the building until they reach the 3rd floor. The team will then move up to the 4th floor where they will successfully engage multiple targets at unknown distances. Team members will load their carbine/SMG’s when they get in the designated shooting boxes. After the team has successfully engaged all the targets from the top of the tower, they will make their weapons safe (Safety must be “on”, magazine must be removed from the weapon and the bolt must be locked back in the weapon). The team will exit the tower as they locate Mr. “Hurt”. After locating Mr. “Hurt” the team will transport him on their way back to the finish line.

Event 10: Sniper Shoot – 1400-1600 HRS 9 May 2010

COURSE OF FIRE: The Team Urban Run and Individual shoot will consist of three (3) Assault Shooters and two (2) Snipers. All team members will be armed with a safety/securely holstered but unloaded handgun. Each Assault member will engage 2 targets each from designated position, for a total of 6 steel targets. Each Sniper will utilize an optically sighted precision rifle, with unlimited ammunition, to engage a total of 2 targets located downrange. The targets will be set at unknown distances. These shots will be taken from the pre-designated Sniper Position on the Control tower. The Assault element will engage their targets from designated position. The Assault element will carry a basic load of ammunition with them. All team members must start and finish together. Team moves along the predetermined route and engage 2 steel targets per team member. The time will end when all targets are engaged and all team members cross the finish line.
